The sister ships  Dan Cisne  &  Dan Sabia was contracted by Lauritzen Offshore  at COSCO Nantong, China.


Mermaid  Maritime Consulting ApS performed  Site Management and delivered both newbuildings timely September 2011 and January 2012 and to Charters “Petrobras” gratification.


The shuttle tanker new buildings features state-of-the-art design and dynamic positioning technology, which enables the vessel to automatically maintain position and heading by using its own propellers and thrusters while transferring oil safely via the bow loading system from floating production, storage, and offloading units (FPSOs) for transport to shore.


The sister vessel,  Sabià (the thrush) is the national bird of Brazil and Cisne (the swan) is the national bird of Denmark.


In addition to its three shuttletankers (Dan Eagle, Dan Cisne and Dan Sabia), Lauritzen Offshore’s fleet of dynamically positioned service vessels also comprises the advanced Accommodation and Support Vessel Dan Swift. All four vessels are operating in Brazilian waters on long-term charters to companies in the Petrobras group.


Lauritzen Offshore’s DP units are all registered with the Danish International Ship registry while manning is comprised of mainly Danish officers having undergone an extensive J. Lauritzen training program in DP2 tanker operation.
